Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi on Saturday paid glowing tributes to former chief commander of Harkat-ul-Mujahideen, Arshid Hussain who breathed his last early this week. Andrabi, in a statement, said that Hussain, despite facing hardships, had a firm resolve and played an active role in the ongoing freedom struggle. She said that Hussain was arrested in mid-nineties and was brutally interrogated. “Hussain’s both kidneys were damaged due to the interrogation and he had to undergo a kidney transplant. His family took him to Pakistan where he was treated free of cost,” she added. She said that Hussain later returned to Kashmir. “ Though he didn’t continue to be in armed struggle but actively participated in the freedom struggle politically.”

Andrabi showered praises on Hussain and expressed her sympathies with his family and said that he was as good as my brother so his death was my personal grief Meanwhile, Andrabi also paid heartfelt tributes to the Shaheed, Mussavir Ahmed Wani of Delipora village of Pulwama. Mussavir achieved martyrdom on Friday in a gunfight with the occupational forces in Kangan area of Pulwama. “Shaheed Musavvir was an engineering student and had a bright future ahead. Despite that he laid down his life for this beleaguered nation and to please Allah SWT.May Allah SWT accept his martyrdom” Expressing serious concern over the day-to-day martyrdom of Mujahideen, Andrabi stressed upon Mujahideen leadership to look into the issue and take practical steps to safeguard the lives of our brave hearts. “ Our Mujahideen are our assets and they should value their lives and shouldn’t be so reckless.

They should keep a close vigil on the informers’ activities and also should look within the groups so that such everyday killings can be stopped,” she added. She appealed the leadership to look within the ranks so as to ensure the safety and security of Mujahideen. She said that the Indian agencies have laid a web of informers who are hell-bent to crush this pious movement for their dirty worldly benefits. “However, our Mujahideen are scripting a new history by resisting the occupational forces. So they need to take measures to safeguard their precious lives,” she added.
